Community empowerment

We actively encourage first-time speakers to apply for a speaker slot at our event and many of these first-time speakers have provided keynote addresses in front of a 500-strong crowd displaying huge moments of bravery and facing their fears but we wanted to provide even more opportunities for women in tech to find their voices and share their stories and so at our Manchester 2023 event, our Community Empowerment Stages were born.

Five-minute slots for first-time speakers in a supportive and safe space, addressing an audience of between 60 and 100 people. These stages were facilitated by a host and we kept things simple, no presentations, no filming – just our amazing speakers taking their moment on stage cheered on by a community of women just like them.
